About The Lighthouse Centre

The Lighthouse Centre is a safe, warm, and friendly space for women and children who have or are experiencing domestic abuse.

We provide a range of services to support you on your individual journey, from identifying the abusive relationship right through to recovery and moving on.

No appointment is necessary to drop into the Centre and all our services are free.

We start our work with you as soon as you walk through the doors of our drop-in service, and we stay with you for as long as you need us. The services we offer are varied so we can support you at whatever stage of your domestic abuse experiences you find yourself. We work in a trauma informed and holistic way, meeting you where you are and supporting you through difficult and challenging times.

Our service includes:

  • A Drop-In Advocacy Service Mon – Thurs 10:30am – 3pm, where you can access independent advocacy, risk assessment and safety planning.
  • 2 specialist learning programmes to support safe recovery.
  • A children’s support programme for children involved with Social Care.
  • Access to legal support
  • Police, Housing and Mental Health/Wellbeing drop-in sessions
  • A volunteering programme enabling women who are experts by experience to become volunteer mentors within our service. The majority of our volunteers have previously been clients of LCW.
  • A peer mentoring service led by our volunteers including a weekly coffee morning and arts and crafts sessions.
  • Advice for those concerned for family members or friends experiencing domestic abuse.
